Porcelain Veneers

Of all cosmetic dentistry services in New Oxford and the treatments available today, porcelain veneers are extremely popular. From middle-aged moms to vibrant seniors, patients of all ages have trusted our cosmetic dentist to transform their smile with porcelain veneers. Dr. Kari Stuntz uses custom, thin sheets of porcelain to immediately improve the appearance of your smile. Say goodbye to teeth that are:

  • Chipped
  • Uneven
  • Stained
  • Broken

Porcelain veneers can make you look years younger and give you the confidence to show off your smile. If you’re considering porcelain veneers for yourself or someone in your family, talk to Dr. Stuntz. She can create a custom treatment plan and gorgeous porcelain veneers that will change everything you dislike about your smile. Don’t hide another smile. Stop avoiding photos. Minimal Prep Veneers

Before your cosmetic dentist can adequately place your porcelain veneers on your teeth, they need to be prepared first. That’s not the case with our minimal prep veneers called Lumineers. They’re carefully created and designed to deliver stunning results. Lumineers have been in use for over three decades and are the #1 patient-requested porcelain veneer system across the world. Lumineers are specially designed and crafted to fit your smile. They’re super thin and small (similar to a contact lens). Every veneer is inspected to ensure proper fit, comfort, and a seamless blend with your other teeth.

This type of minimal prep veneer is less invasive and generally thinner than traditional porcelain veneers. Because of this, Lumineers don’t require a lot of preparation of your natural teeth that can irreversibly remove healthy tooth structure. In clinical tests, Lumineers have been shown to last for over two decades. However, unlike other cosmetic treatments, Lumineers are completely reversible because underneath, your natural teeth are healthy and intact.

Full Mouth Restorations

Don’t be afraid of or get nervous about the words “full-mouth restoration.” It can sound like a big deal (in some ways it kind of is), but your cosmetic dentist will create a custom, step-by-step treatment plan. This will be our guide as we restore and transform your teeth both functionally and aesthetically.

The goal here is to fix and restore everything in your mouth that’s not functioning as it should be, such as your teeth and gums. We want every part of your smile to operate like it’s supposed to, without issues or harm to the rest of your mouth or body. A full mouth reconstruction can:

  • Give you back your confidence
  • Help you enjoy a healthier diet
  • Provide the celebrity smile you’ve always dreamed of having

It’s hard to put a definitive timeline on your full mouth restoration treatment because everyone and every smile is different. Rest assured, your cosmetic dentist will do everything she can to make your smile whole again and help keep you out of pain for good.

Crown Lengthening

If you have a “gummy” smile or teeth that are covered by excessive gum tissue, crown lengthening could be right for you! Crown lengthening is a type of oral surgery your cosmetic dentist can use to remove too much gum tissue around your upper teeth. The result is teeth that look longer for a more fulfilled smile. This standard procedure is also helpful for patients who are susceptible to tooth decay.

Like all cosmetic dentistry treatments, crown lengthening comes with some advantages for you and your smile, including:

  • Compared to other treatments, crown lengthening is done in one visit. You won’t need additional appointments or touch-ups later on in life.
  • Crown lengthening creates a more symmetrical, functional smile.
  • You cosmetic dentist can also show you how crown lengthening can reduce your risk for tooth decay and cavities.
  • The treatment is usually able to be completed in just 30 minutes to an hour.

Composite Bonding

If porcelain veneers are the #1 most asked about cosmetic dentistry treatment, composite bonding comes in at a close second. Your cosmetic dentist will tell you that composite bonding is so popular because it’s less costly and more highly effective.

Do your teeth have any of these issues?

  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Decay
  • Discoloration
  • Unevenness

This type of cosmetic treatment uses a tooth-colored composite material that your cosmetic dentist carefully applies to each tooth. Using specialized tools and an artful eye, she’ll be able to sculpt the material into the exact shape she wants. After that, your new composite bonding is hardened and polished.

One of the most significant benefits of composite bonding is that you’ll most likely only have to visit the office once. The procedure is usually completed in a day, allowing about a half-hour to an hour per tooth you’re having bonded. The good news is, you won’t need any anesthesia or enamel removal like other procedures.

Smile Whitening

There are plenty of reasons why our teeth turn yellow or darken over time.

  • Foods
  • Beverages
  • Medications
  • Tobacco
  • Trauma
  • Disease
  • Genetics

If your teeth aren’t as bright and white as they used to be, maybe it’s time you talked to your cosmetic dentist about teeth whitening. We’ll be sure to examine your teeth to make sure you’re a suitable candidate before suggesting a treatment that’s right for you.

Dentistry on the Square has two ways you can make your smile shine again. We offer Zoom! Whitening both in the comfort of our New Oxford dental office and in the privacy of your home. If you choose to have your teeth whitened in the office, it works like this:

The hydrogen peroxide-based gel is applied to your teeth. Then you’re given an activating light that tells the gel to start working. We’ll use a special mouthpiece to keep your mouth from touching your teeth during treatment to achieve optimal results. The whole process takes about 15 minutes to complete. You’ll leave our office with a brighter, whiter smile you can’t want to show off!
